I didn't read it too much, but how can he get a pci-express video card on such an old system?

There are pci-express motherboards that work with Pentium4s.

I don't believe the socket 478 P4's ever had PCI-e (unless ASRock made one of those one off boards or something), but it was fairly common, once P4 moved to LGA775 to see PCI-e boards.

Hell I'm pretty sure I could drop a P4 on my current motherboard if I wanted to (not that I do).

Whoever posted it is probably like 12. I remember my third or fourth post ever here was in the General Hardware section, saying I was having overheating problems with my Pentium II PC that I'd overclocked to run Far Cry, and I posted a link to a computer that had was melted from a fire. I think I suggested I needed more fans but was looking for confirmation. Regardless, hilarity obviously did not ensue like I'd hoped it would. You guys CRUCIFIED me. :)

Mostly jealousy. A hell of a card for somebody that obviously knows nothing about the stuff... well *pretends* to know nothing about the stuff.
