Will update soon with how sli'ed 8800 Gt's handle the game

Patch.... guru 3d

Edit** nvidia just released a 169.28 beta driver for xp and vista. All I can say is wow!! I broke the benchmark(shows wire frames) but in game frames are mostly 35+ fps @1920x1200 all very high configs enabled through the console using xp. If fps dip below 30 fps it seems as though it is due to loading of areas. Gameplay is extremely fluid. Finally I'm happy to have sli

Saw over at incrysis that a lot of people are having problems installing it in vista. Can't wait to try it once I'm home. I don't care about performance upgrades that much, but I hope it fixes game bugs that keeps me from moving to next stage.

By the way, this is a leaked patch so  to whoever leaked it :)

ok, after an hour and a half I can tell my experiences, with 2 rigs actually. My vostro and desktop.

First off if you were like me and deleted the trailers(the movies that you can't skip in the beginning) you have to put them back in the correct folders because the patch seems to be looking for them and will halt cause it can't find certain files. I happen to save files like this that i delete because of reasons like this. After putting the trailers back in I was able to install the patch with no issues what so ever(haven't tried on vista 64 yet, will soon though since I dual boot).

on both systems I was very displeased about the performance increase or shall I say lack there of after running the benchmark. Everything was identical. I was pretty heated and because Crysis sucked on my sli rig and my lappy already played the game decently.
See this thread.

edit** sorry I prematurly sent

So i decided to go take my morning sh!t since I had been holding it in for the last hour, and came back for some actual game play.

this is where I am amazed. On the Sli rig all my performance issues are gone. All the dips and inconsistancies are cured. Add to that that there are a lot of times that I'm pushing 45-60 fps outdoors @ 1920x1200 all high settings (couple of very high tweaks for dx9) is amazing. Don't get me wrong in a heated fire fight I still see 20Fps but jesus there is major shit going on.

On the vostro, I was already very pleased, it does see a little smoother like less caching but it already played wonderfully.

Actually I deleted the trailers(the movies that you can't skip in the beginning) and didn't have to put them back to install the patch.

Ya, that's more than we need to know...

Haven't got patch yet, but will probably try it in an hour or so. I've been waiting for the damn thing so I could go through it a second time.

Well wtf. I'm downloading the patch for the 3rd time now from a different place, but it looks like the POS won't work. I have modded/touched NOTHING, but it keeps "Not Responding" right at the screen where you can choose to "Update".

Edit:

Third download, same problem.

C***sucker. Just read over 10 pages of the 1.1 thread over at Incrysis, looks like lots of people are having problems. Solution is to reinstall the entire game. Screw that, maybe I'll try it again when I feel like reinstalling 6 gigabytes of shit I already have.

uber high detail config.

The download link provided by the author in his main post doesn't work for me.

Anyone knows where I can download version 1.2 ?

Thanks.

EDIT: Never mind, I found a fixed link later in the discussion on that forum.

Damn!

You guys won't beleive this, but with my 7800gt (rig below) on a 1680x1050 monitor, i was playing all medium settings in high 30s and high 40s, with dips into 20s. This coming from without the patch running all low and only getting high 50s with drops to high 20s.

This patch is amazing.

The only improvement I've seen is the framerate is more consistent in DX9. Although now it crashes whenever I try to play in DX10.

As far as DX10 in Vista 64 goes...performance is eh...a little better. Running the rig in my sig, I noticed on big vista moments it didnt stutter and lag as much nor did I ever notice my frames drop below about 18 even in big firefights.

I'm running it all high with 2x FSAA @ 1440x900. Average frames are about 30-35 now instead of before which was basically 25-30. So a little improvement nothing much to write home about but definitely slightly more playable.

Unfortunately that cfg is too much for my now wimpy Opteron 146, 2 GB RAM, and unlocked Xtasy x800.

I believe there is a .5 of a frame difference. :/

This is on a q6660 at 3.6ghz, a p35c-ds3r mb, 2gb of crucial ballistix at 900mhz 4-4-4-15, and an 8800gts 512mb at 756/1836/1950.

I can push the 8800 another 150 on the memory and 75-100 on the core, but I get about a frame out of it :/

Not feeling positive at all about the 9800gx2 either, will still be lacklustre.

Thats odd, with my 3.0 Q6600, I went from 22fps to 44.6fps after the patch. What are you getting on the new benchmark thats included in the patch?

Yeah I wasn't aware there was a new benchmark. You saw this was at 1920x1200 right ? I don't think there is any solution atm that can do 1920x1200 at high and get 40+fps.

Yes its listed as benchmarkcpu 2. It takes place in a frozen area, so its a lot tougher on your computer than the first one. Just look in the folder and you will find it.
