Crysis on a 6800GS@U/2.1Ghz AXp is beyond a slideshow.

Have ascertained that my machine couldn't handle it at any level, I cranked everything in the demo to high.

I coined the phrase 'fpm' (frames per minute) at this stage, and I doubt it achieved double digit fpm at any stage

Grab one of those Visiontek 512mb HD2600 Pro's on the FS forum for $50 - $55 shipped. I got one and OC'd it to 675/1098 and I play Crysis @ 1024x768 with 8x AF and all settings on mid detail No slideshow for me and I'm using a P4 3gh\512\800 S478 chip and 4x 512mb PQI CL3 Value ram PC3200.

I need to accept that this platform is dead already

I know my graphics card is getting bent over by my cpu & mem-subsystem (1.5Gb slow ass DDR) even now, a better graphics card won't save me.
