Why does no one test the latest video cards from ATI and Nvidia on this level of Crysis to see if it is playable yet at high resolutions and detail settings ? I don't expect to be able to use any AA or AF.

I'm almost finished benching with a 3850, 4850, and 8800GT, and on Crysis I bench on the ice level. Specifically the start of "Exodus", where you run over to a group and soldiers and those giant flying aliens attack. I'll let you know how the 4850 handles it if you're still interested.

I am still interested on how the 4850 handles the ice level on Crysis. Thanks. Wow a lot of people must be interested.

See I never expected him to anyway. You don't know much about human beings do you ? Most are very unreliable.

The final boss battles on the ship deck are much more graphically intensive. My GT didn't have any problem with the ice levels, but I had to turn down graphics settings during the last battles.

From what graphic settings details to to what? High to medium for it all ? What resolution were you playing at and did you have to lower the resolution any?

True. I started out playing on high settings at 1920x1200 with a single 8800gt, made it through the jungle, and when I got to the alien level I had to turn it down to medium. By the time I got to the final boss battle it was choppy even at medium settings. But I just beat it anyways, uninstalled it, and will not install again for a long time.

Do you think the ATI 4870 could handle Crysis at 1680x1050 all at high settings in DX10 all the way to the end in the ice levels and during the final fight ?

Well, it could probably do around 30fps average, if you don't use AA, which may or may not be playable to you. And the minimum framerate would dip lower than that, so I wouldn't expect comfortably smooth gameplay. Maybe someone who owns a 4870 can provide better info on that.
