Crysis 2 not the best looking game?

Your hired! (or thats what crytek should say!)

If hes not already some sort of gameing artist, someone should snag him up and hire him to do what hes already doing (and probably for free) for the modding communities.

is it actually available for download? this guy is supposedly always working on something but I never see where to get it. his old texture pack has had broken dl links since right after it came out and he knows it.

Hi Toyota, 3.0b version was launched in october 11, 2011 and was online for a long time. When megaupload cracked, I lost the uploaded mod.

In one hand, I can't upload last version again because I don't have it in my computer but only regular saves of version in development. I know, it's my fault. But I don't have enough disk space because I'm saving mod versions every week and deleting old ones. I have 2 TB more are less and all is full with photos, photoshop files, textures and levels versions.

In the other hand, I've seen some links with my mod, but I will not take responsibility for something that I have not uploaded. You can find these links using google if you want to try the old version.

So I feel more comfortable completing 4.0 version and uploading it myself and not urging people to use a version that I have not uploaded and that I consider obsolete. When I finish 4.0 I will put links on the blog.

Sorry to hear about your issue because of Megaupload. If I could suggest that you don't use sites that host copyrighted material next time. There are game forums that will host game related mods/files for free.

Interestingly however, when analysing cloud stroage sites like Fileserve, Rapidshare and others, MegaUpload – the site that was taken down and its owner arrested – was one of the lowest on the scale, with FileSonic being the worst offender.

Yet Filesonic,wupload,fileserve,4shared all do it probably more so than MegaUpload did.
Megaupload was probably used more for personal uploads that where legal, than any of the others. Yet it got taken down.

mmmmhmmm.... where? I mean there must be a reason people used sites like Megaupload for gameing texture mods ect, if these "game forums" actually worked like you make it sound like they would, why would they use something like mega upload? In short its just not realistic to expect these huge texture mods for games to be on small time forum servers.

It's just a suggestion so he doesn't loose his files and hard work again. Game mods can take 100's of hours to do. I'm not debating the right or wrong or who's the worse offenders. I could personally care less about Megaupload or Kim Dotcom. He can go free or rot in jail for all I care.

Battleclinic, just to name one, hosts members files and don't host music, movies, cracked software, etc. that will get sites shutdown.

Not sure why this got moved from PC Gaming, but I look forward to replaying Crysis 2 once you finish the next version of the mod.

I never even payed attention to how bad the textures in the game were until I saw the before and and afters of your work.

Those textures look great, but the VRAM and memory usage, and shipping disc space will go through the roof to fit it I would think hence why it's hard to expect such nice textures in even modern games (especially for just a PC version), unless the issue was more of an artistic one on Crytek's part.

The original Crysis vs Far Cry 2 is a great example of superior art and creative technique (in favor of Crysis) vs higher resolution (in the textures as well as much poorer geometry and overall visual execution).

Those things said, to be honest, I'd like to see you devote time to older games that could benefit much more from such high end texture updating, like Far Cry 1 lol.

Wow, had I owned Crysis 2 I would use your texture pack in a heart beat. I hope you make your living doing this sort of work.
