I'm getting nervous that there is no dx11 mode. Not seeing any recent mention of it, and its features. I mean , we would be hearing the spin terms wouldn't we ?
Cutting edge might not apply ?

son of a bitch this is just pissing me off. an account on gamespy will do no good because all that is is an email and pass. you need to make a nick and pass to play the game. and yes I tried my gamespy email and pass first just to see. well after 15 minutes of trying I did finally create an account on mycrysis.com and that info was sent to my email. however I cant confirm it because when I click on the confirmation link it just goes to a freaking page to reset the password.

God I hate that crap, I went thru it with Crysis Warhead. I swear it took me an hour just to set the game up. Gamespy account, EA account...then created a profile. Had issues with both Gamecrap and EA accounts.

By the time I was done setting it up I didn't even want to play the freakin game......

I will try this game tonight, downloading now.

I've left a crysis 2 account creation thing going on in the background on their website for 3 hours so far.

Crysis 2 may well be the very first game that looks worse than the original. Has that happened before?

Not impressed by the screenshots at all. THey look average.

quake 2 was worse than quake 1, no doubt about it. The feel was all wrong and the color of the levels was horrible.

I got my sound going, had not updated the m/b Realtek drivers in quite a while. I was able to create a account log in from the demo, first try. I used a valid gmail account. Took about 20 seconds.

Just played it for a bit. Runs like glass on my 5870 and Q9550 at max details albeit at 1680x1050. Definitely doesn't seem to look as impressive as Crysis 1. Super consolized. Seems like they did everything they could to make it as much like Call of Duty MW2 as much as possible.

Medal of Honor was a first attempt at that....failed miserably, now it's Crysis 2.

They need to LEAD, not follow. And if they do follow, at least follow something worth following. hehe

Well.... that answers my question if my rig can play Crysis 2!!! I've been building it over the pass few months... I want to push my Nvidia GTX 570 to its knees to give me an excuse to go SLI and get a new PSU... :'(

Guess I'll have to wait...

Considering I get about 60fps in Crysis on very high with 4xAA @ 2560x1600 and pull 100fps in this Crysis 2 demo. I think you are good.

If DX11 in Crysis 2 incurs a 40% performance hit bringing the performance to the level I get in the original Crysis or even less, I hope it works miracles for graphics quality, considering so far Crysis 2 is nowhere near the fidelity of the original.

Yes but can it play battlefield 3? :) jk btw.
(tried of the "can it play crysis").

Sick you can play at 2560x1600@ 4xAA + Very high settings and get over 100fps avg. in crysis 2. Crazy gamer machine right there.

This is a joke, nothing about this game looks near as good as Crysis did. The performance shows.

We've been waiting for/there was a thread about will you upgrade for THIS GAME?

I just ran around for a bit on hardcore 19x12... ran a hell of a lot better than Crysis did. Looks basically like MW2 for the ps3.

DX11 isn't going to make a huge difference anyways.

The graphics aren't that bad IMO. The one area where they could have done better is with the foliage, but really I think the game looks nice and performs well overall. It's not quite as nice as the more recent COD games, but it's got a lot going for it in terms of gameplay this time. I like the way the suit works.

Demo was OK but I wasn't "WOWED" by it or anything I too believe that the original looks better.

What are you getting in DX9 for the first one then?

okay I was finally able to make an account from within the game. first thing I did was put the graphics on hardcore just to check em out and yeah they are not impressive at all. it ran ran perfectly smooth on my old gtx260 but it should considering the game is not impressive looking at all. hopefully the single player will look much better and actually offer some additional graphics settings. if it doesn't then I see no reason to upgrade my pc at all.

Did you reduce the settings and and see if it made any difference. Maybe they just used the same code as the leak.

Good news sort of. Even though MSI said both cards were working, I disabled Crossfire and replayed. I was still getting 36fps, with drops down to 28. So, when we either get a few driver updates, or a new crossfire profile, we will be getting better performance.

I renamed the exe file to Fear, and I went from an average of 35fps up to averages of 58fps and highs in the mid 60's, using crossfire 5870's at 2560x1600.
