Whoo. Can't wait for the benchmarks!

As for me, UPS has delayed my newegg shipment to complete my build, so I'll have to wait a couple of days. Boo hoo.

Crysis 2 may well be the very first game that looks worse than the original. Has that happened before?

Not impressed by the screenshots at all. THey look average.

Can't judge a game by screenshots. I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying you're comparing a bunch of still images (that may very well be console screens) to something you've played on your own system. Hard to compare.

Reading the thread at ocn it looks like there is NO dx11 or benchmark in the demo. But HQ video options dx9 and the game servers are up.

It's a running problem with EA games that are tied into the crappy gamespy system.

If you make an account on gamespy's site, then go to the demo and create an account using the same password and email for the gamespy account you created and whatever random account name you want, it will work.

Isn't the demo multiplayer only? If so, it won't be representative of what the single player frame experience will be like.

I hope the demo has full on dx11 graphics. A trend in PC demos seems to be limiting the available graphics options (Dragon Age 2, AvP, Dirt 2...)

HAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAA I completely called this one. No DX11 in the demo.

WTF do publishers/developers do this?

On the Pier, I was getting about 36fps average on Hardcore, at 2560x1600 with the rig in the sig. Graphics card usage was at 98% on both cards.

Because multiplayer demos are made to appeal to a wider audience and they don't want to waste their bandwidth having people download content their computer isn't capable of playing.

Here's some quick screens, 2560x1600, "Hardcore" graphics settings (whatever that is, there's nothing more specific):

Just running around an empty map taking screenshots I'm getting 30-45FPS. Not bad, but the game also looks worse than the original, so I can't say I'm impressed. The big problem is the lack of dynamic elements in the environment (very few dynamic lights and shadows). Hopefully DX11 fixes this and doesn't tank performance. We'll see.

SLI is not working, renaming to Crysis.exe works but it causes the whole game to flicker constantly. Getting about 30fps here with a single card on hardcore.

Also, the motion blur is atrociously overdone. I sure hope there are some more robust graphics option in the retail version with the ability to turn off the blur altogether.

Graphics are meh, game reminds me of killzone for some reason.

son of a bitch this is just pissing me off. an account on gamespy will do no good because all that is is an email and pass. you need to make a nick and pass to play the game. and yes I tried my gamespy email and pass first just to see. well after 15 minutes of trying I did finally create an account on mycrysis.com and that info was sent to my email. however I cant confirm it because when I click on the confirmation link it just goes to a freaking page to reset the password.

That's a Crysis all right!!

What if it looks crappy AND runs worse than the first, that should be fun! :p

Groover is getting about 30 fps vs crossfired 5870's 36fps. Might this be the gtx480 tessalaters working better? And Mrk 6's 6950 is getting about 38 fps and the 6 series has better tessalation also.

Or is this theory just crap because its all directx 9 anyway?
Mabe crossfire is just running like crap but he did say 98% usage with both cards?

there is no tessellation occurring if it is only DX9.

BTW, I found the same crappy interior you highlighted for Crysis in Warhead, more specifically in the building with the tower where you radio for the Vtol, during the last level, that staircase looks special all right.

Yep, showing 98% on both cards, and both maps.

DX9 Crysis runs worse than DX10 now on AMD, I don't know about Nvidia cards now.

Right now, the weapons need a little balancing. Sniper seams overpowered, and nads seam a little underpowered.

Whats up with almost 2 minutes total between match starts. That needs to go.

7.1 on G930's sound awesome on the demo for me.

Nvidia Benchmarks
http://www.geforce.com/#/Optimize/Guides/crysis-2-benchmarks

*edit: No mention of DX11 - In game graphic adjustments are limited to Gamer, Advanced, and Hardcore - No adjustment of AA... doesn't bode well for us PC enthusiasts. Though i am sure we will be able to tweak the config

Crysis 2 Nvidia Benchmarks Article said:
In terms of the latest generation GPUs, all but the GTX 560 Ti could legitimately max out Crysis 2 on Hardcore at 2560x1600.

When did 35.7fps become legitimately maxing out a game, and thats a DX9 Demo to boot?
