To me the 360 looks horrible. The lighting is overdone bloom whereas the pc is softer and much better done. 360 textures, aliasing and view distance quality are also atrocious. But it's impressive to even see it running on the 360 at all.

Just putting it out there, you guys do know the console version is being redone on Cryengine 3?

From everything I've seen of it, it looks more like Crysis 2 preDX11 patch than Crysis 1.

Don't flame me. But other than lower resolution and poorer shadows, the xbox lighting looks better. They did an amazing job on the xbox.

there's a ton of repeated textures, and the trees and plants are far less dynamic (no swaying in the trees/leaves at all), basically the environment feels far less alive

also I would be of the opinion that the lighting is overdone, excessively exagerated to make up for the fact that it can't be done with any sort of subtlety because it would be too strenuous to do it right, it certainly makes a more impactful first impression, but just look at both over and over several times and see if it still looks better.

Funny how everyone think the lighting looks worse. Crysis 2 DX11 patch did the same thing to the lighting making it brighter and higher contrast and everyone says its night and day better. Plus BF3's lighting and AO are even more overdone and people are saying its the best graphics ever.

Took a very quick glance at this thread. Is the 360 screenshot the last shot in Post #11? If so, that looks MILES better than the PC.

- More detailed vegetation / more realistic depth of field (background)
- More detail on the ground and on the vehicle (tires, doors, etc.)
- Better lighting / textures (looks more real life than a videogame)

Honestly, this looks way too good for a console.

I have a feeling it looks so great because the size of the screenshot is so small. Project that to a 30 inch+ monitor and see how it fares. I don't see how the 360 version can look better than the PC version under such a scenario where textures and aliasing limitations will come into play on the console.

BTW, the 4 screenshots (on the PC) have horrible aliasing issues (on the car) and crazy vegetation shimmering (prob need to enable higher quality aliasing such as TrSS or SSAA).

Those SS were all PC, I was mistaken in thinking the final one was from the 360.

The youtube video really shows how far behind the 360 is from the PC.

That user actually has some other good videos comparing PC vs console titles

BF3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...tion_id=annotation_545646&src_vid=xQ_1mcnH2yQ

Crysis 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtHA...yQ&annotation_id=annotation_595424&feature=iv

Crysis 2 doesn't look much different on console vs PC to my eyes.

But Crysis 1 vs 360 is drastically different. Crysis 1 is the reigning beast of visuals.

The story was horrible in Crysis before the aliens showed up, but then it got worse along with the gameplay. I found the gameplay with the aliens boring and uninspired.

The story became something like you would see on Sy-Fy channel's "original" movies. Very much a B level science fiction story. Crysis 2 just kept going with the same things that I didn't like about the first's story. Although I liked the part where the park rose out of the ground and you watched it from the top of a skyscraper, that was an impressive view.

I loved the aliens...well, at least the high-tech feel that the alien section produced. Plus I've always been a sci-fi lover so that is another aspect about myself that really made love Crysis. I will agree that the gameplay itself was a lot more annoying and I preferred fighting the human opponents was more enjoyable than the aliens. It was the Alien introduction that completely made the game more epic and memorable than Farcry ever did.

They didn't do a very good job on the PC version of Crysis 2. There were a few complaints about it.

The PS3 version of BF3 is awful looking. Might as well make if for the Wii if the PS3 version is acceptable to anyone.
