Cryostasis: PhysX Patch 1.1

What's the proper way to install the new 1.1 Cryostasis patch? I have the free digital river version of the game from nvidia and when I attempt to install it states that Cryostasis is not installed.
I also noticed that nvidia had a new physx patch that enables some enhancement for this game. My current file version is 1.0.0.1
 
I read about similar problems here. If you've downloaded the game from direct2drive then they have a patch released for it separately which you can find on the link I've provided (in the last post on that link's thread).

hmm, I've looked at those post and nothing seems to work. I've downloaded that patch and it states the game is not installed. I'm just trying to find out if my file version 1.0.0.1 was already patched because I experienced everything the patch said was new to include parts of clothes, fabrics, mops. icicles, splitting into multiple shatters.
I have a hardware physics option in the video menu and a water cannon weapon is available in the weapons menu. I'm not sure how many weapons were in the retail version the patch states it added New weapon available - water gun.
I wonder what the file version is for the 1.1 patch.

Yup, looks to me that the patch might have been installed already then.

 

I can't even get the demo of this game to work. Stalls on a black screen almost as if a Splash screen is about to come on and then nothing. Probably Windows 7. I seem to have a quick problem with games and then I search around and find a solution....
 
With the very recently released beta 186 nvidia drivers (that also contain the latest physx software), and the 1.1 Cryostasis patch (there are several different patch versions depending on how you bought the game) I've observed a very noticeable increase in performance. I'm not using fraps, but the game went from somewhat fluid at best (my guess is avg. 20-25 fps) to very playable now (avg. 30 fps now, guess).

My rig is an e8400 @ 4ghz, GTX 260 core 216 @ 650mhz, 4 gigs 1066 RAM, Win 7 64 bit.

There are several 1.1 patches out, one for digital river, one for retail, and one for direct2drive. You just have to find the right one. (Just another reason why I like Steam - auto patching).

Yep, that's true. You need to get the specific patch depending on how you bought the game.

so what is your file version with the patch 1.1 installed? I installed the new physx patch 909..04.28 but I'm still using 185.85 drivers. My version is for digital version but it appears to be already patched. How many weapons do you have now compared to the retail version? Was a water cannon added or was it there at default?

Do you get any error messages? If it's a Windows 7 related problem then I read here that installing the game in XP/Vista mode might be of help.

No error message the patch just wont install because it states software not found, Cryostasis could not be located on your system. I have it installed on my E drive instead of the default C drive.
 
I know there is a new water cannon in the patch but I have not played the game much yet. It seems like it's got a great atmosphere and good graphics/effects, so I'm looking forward to playing it.

I just wanted to put it out there that the newest version of the physx software coupled with the 1.1 patch noticeably improved the game's performance on my rig and will likely help others who are having issues.

what is the file version of your patched game?
Is the water cannon the same as the water gun?
 
Well, at least I can get mine going now. Don't know if you guys know this (I didn't) but there was a new DX that came out 2 mo's ago. This game froze at the splash screen for me, but after the new DX10 it works. Link Here As for the game it is so-so. Of course I'm only playing the Demo but it's nothing spectacular. I will agree however that it sure does convey the cold somehow. I guess between the visuals and the sound and your breathing, it makes you feel you are in extremely cold weather...
