Cryostasis Demo! The way the retail game should have been!

Was looking around to see if they had a Cryostasis patch to see if they fixed the Physx (or lack there of) in the final retail version...and lo and behold they have a playable demo that has all the flashy Physx stuff in the game this time around.

For those who don't know...remember the awesome Cryostasis Physx tech demo that came out a couple months ago showcasing all the awesome Physx stuff? Well, the retail version had nothing Physx in it...no water Physx, cloth Physx, nothing...just a standard FPS...

Now, the demo (released in conjunction with Nvidia) has all this awesome Physx stuff in it! Game plays a lot smoother and the SM4.0 problem that existed with ATi cards in the retail and tech demo is gone.

Still waiting for the patch to put Physx in the retail copy, but from what I've heard, EVGA buyers get a copy with their new graphics cards...which apparently has the Physx patch pre-applied.

Now that I've played the game and beat it...I'm really excited about the new Physx patch coming out...should make the game a lot more enjoyable and indepth as it should have been!

How do they get away with marketing a game as a fantastic Physx app, and then let it go to retail without it? That's pretty insulting...

So they released a game which runs very poorly on ATI and doesn't have PhysX on NV, but the demo is find with both?
That sounds really stupid.

Although small, there is Physx in the retail game. Snow flakes, bodies, cloth - both frozen and unfrozen, shattered ice, and a few instances of water droplets falling and pooling. There needs to be more instances of the water droplets and pooling. I've completed the game and only saw three instances of this.

Yeah, the demo has A LOT MORE PHYSX! Its actually quite impressive...brings my Ageia PPU to its knees though LOL!

Such a shame. I downloaded the demo and it ran fine once I disabled all the bleh physx stuff, and I was thinking about getting it. Then, I come here and find out that the retail doesn't play well with ATI cards?

OK, well, that just means I can buy some other game that works better with my GPU.

Well, they released a patch to add all the Physx stuff to the actual full retail game, however, the patch doesn't seem to detect the installed game on about 95% of systems...according to the forums only about 1 person has actually be able to successfully install it...I've had no luck!

How do you release a broken patch? LOL...ironic.

the patch worked for me

I have the US retail version of the game on DVD. This version works with the patch.

Yeah, turned out that the patch was ONLY for the US version...they have since released patches for all the other versions. Problem fixed.
