China, is no longer a "command economy."

The very fact of their "backwardness" makes them a free'er economy than the U.S.

The very fact of their economic success, makes them a stronger economy than the U.S.

While we are going backwards, and drowning in mountains of debt, China is pushing forwards and freeing it's people to succeed.

Who has the "command economy?"

The (new) Communist Government, that just wants its people to EXPLODE on the market, and succeed.

Or, The Democratic Government, in debt up to its eye-balls.

The World Bank ranks the US 5th in ease of doing business, and ranks China 79th. http://www.doingbusiness.org/rankings

We're very likeable. :)

We'll float you a couple of million dollars, pay us whenever. If you don't pay us, we're insured.

We're insured, aren't we?

As soon as money is this abstract thing, then you can be sure Government (or Religion) is involved.

Money, is as direct a correlation as we have today to worth.

While Government (or Religion) ignore, or abstract Money, the rest of us know what is going on.

Today, we are at a turning point, which the OP acknowledges.

Keep making fake money, or earn your money.

Why would you think that a large population makes a place shitty to live in?

Mega-Cities, Cities with 10 Million or more residents, are growing and growing and expanding. It has to be invigorating, to live in a Mega-City, versus the suburb or country-side.

Have you ever heard of Thomas Malthus? Basically, as the population density increases the amount of resources per capita decreases while the amount of pollution increases.

Who wants to live in a tiny sardine can of an apartment and breath polluted air?

I don't know what the cities are like in China, but I did know two people who went over to Shanghai for a couple months and they thought it was a horribly filthy place with much lower sanitation standards than what we're used to.

One of my most enlightend moments, was when I realized that people that lived in foreign countries, and spoke foreign languages, were living just like me. Their conversation, while foreign, was what I was talking about. Their living conditions, while different, were as I would have lived.

Your folks that went to Shanghai, and reported back how horrible it was, well I don't put much faith in their report.

There ARE horrible places in this world, Shanghai is not one of them.

I've not heard of Thomas Malthus, and by your brief description, I'm not likely to remember him, or his ideas after tonight. :)

We have a Global Economy now. It's based on supply and demand, with Government Regulation and Taxation, tearing their little, un-economic, holes in the general principle.

What you, and most people, are against, is Government regulating the Economy.

So remember that, when you go to the ballot box, and vote for less Government.

-John

absolutely not!

Do you know what happens to a balloon when you put a pin-hole into it?

that is exactly what happened to the wealth and jobs of the United States when we joined the global economy.
