Some people want to get good MPG, have good acceleration, and good handling, and not drive a huge slow boat. Then, they want to make their generally cheaper priced cars, look a bit better, or go faster.

I see nothing wrong with adding clear corners to a car. It looks slick as hell, and seeing a black car, with clear corners up front and only clear and red lenses in the back is tight. Black, Silver, Clear and Red are all the colors on the outside of the car. that is awesome.

Nobody goes making threads all day long about your 14MPG boat you drive, so leave us alone.

People put many hours into their cars, and the large majority of them learn a lot about their cars, and do their own work. So while you go pay to get your gay auto tranny fixed for $1500, we can order a new clutch kit for $200 and install it ourselves. Now who is laughing.

The people buying neon pedals are just trying to make thier car stand out a little. When 90% of the cars out there are civics.. can't blame people for wanting to be at least a little unique and personalized.

And I have no problems with little stuff like neon brake pedals and whatnot. My problem is giant racing spoilers and homoerotic stickers plastered all over someone's car.

Some ricers make their cars look nice. Some make them look stupid. Personally, if I get a Civic, I plan to put a SMALL spoiler on it, some decent rims (not any of that multi-colored plastic looking crap), maybe some of the clear taillights, and a couple extras inside, like some nice pedals or something. I don't see anything wrong with that; it's just making my car asthetically pleasing to ME.

What I can't stand is when people take their 1985 Honda Civics and put erector-set spoilers on them, and drive them around with the front seats laid back, trying to look cool.

So that was a cut-and-paste response I take it You gotta realize, everyone likes to single out the people who go to pepboys with 50 bucks, and walk out with LED everything for their 92 Toyota Tercel. I will wholeheartidly admit that there are better ways to spend $50, but there is no reason to bash a dude for doing something he enjoys. I personally thing computer neons are the gayest thing ever, but I would never bash someone about their mod, because it is what they like, and i respect that. Then again, I am a "performance ricer" not so much a 16 year old pimple face playing with neons. I think of $50 as $50 towards getting that exhaust manifold(EDIT: brainfart; i meant headers), or vented and cross-drilled rotors, etc, etc.

I drive an SVT Contour, it's not high priced, but it is a great performer, so I know about not driving a huge slow boat.

And I'd rather drive my car any day over a honda accord with a grocery cart spoiler and clear tail lights. And yes, I would spend twice as much to get a turbocharger than to put some type R stickers all over my car.

I still contend that for the ammount people spend ricing up their cars, they could actually get a nice one.

The contour SVT is an exception. My friend had one, till some jack ass 74 year old woman in her huge boat hit him at an intersection where his road has no stop signs, and has the right away, and the other cross street has stop signs, he was going down the road, and while he was in the middle of the intersection, he got hit on the side by the lady, i guess she assumed he would stop. He was going 35 when he had the brakes on, and the lady had got up to about 15. She hit the side of the car, and then it spun the car so it was facing towards her street. The thing was totaled. his air bag didnt go off, but he had 5 point harnesses and Recaro racing seats, and was perfectly fine. With the insurance money, he got a Maxima, and he may be supercharging it.

I think the worst looking thing I've ever seen are those cheap hubcaps with the imitation brake discs underneath! Just absolutely hilarious. I couldn't afford rims for my car, so I just got some (decent) hubcaps. But don't worry, I stayed away from the ones that try to look like rims

I've thought about supercharging my Contour and putting on custom headers to put off getting that 330ix I want.
