Crutchfield Electronics

i did a LONG time ago, before the days of ebay.

the experience was really good though, i would definitely buy from there w/out hesitation if they had something I wanted.

Overpriced.

They have an item at the same price than local stores. the only reason i ask is because i can get a 100$ gift certificate for them today over email.

While i could get a Circuit City or Best Buy gift card in about two-three weeks.

You pay a small premium for excellent service. Their car audio comes with the wiring harness and any brackets that you may + they include a very detailed installation guide that is tailored to your make & model.

You may be able to find cheaper prices but if you're looking for a 'complete package', Crutchfield is the place to go.

I'm actually thinking of getting a DirecTV DVR with Tivo for 99$ which is the regular price that all stores have, but the choice is get it today through them or wait three weeks and buy it locally.

I'm going to give them a try.

I like em however for the first time ever there directions for something was wrong and it caused me to break something in my car which leaves a sour taste in my mouth. But ive used em for years no problem.

Their prices are the same as some of the major electronics stores. If you dont live in the state of their business, you can save quite a lot of money by paying no taxes.

They also are authorized for everything they sell, no grey market or "house" warranty instead of from the manufacturer.

I've been buying from them for over a decade, though sometimes I'll buy elsewhere if the price difference is big enough and I don't expect to need their excellent support.

Not necessarily always overpriced. Some items are too expensive and some are right in the ballpark. Using a coupon I bought a head unit from Crutchfield for less than I could have gotten it from anyone else.

The service and tech help are incredible. They have a no questions asked return policy and stand behind it. I wasn't too fond of the head unit I got. It was finicky on mp3 media and didn't display file names as clearly as I had hoped. Called them and they took it back without any trouble, no shipping fee, no restocking fee. Got a different head unit and had an electrical glitch installing it. Called tech support and got connected to a real human in seconds. It took him less than 2 minutes to listen to the symptoms and correctly identify the problem. A few minutes later it was up and running. Crutchfield has earned my repeat business and in the future I'll happily buy from them again even if it costs a few bucks more. Companies with service that good are extremely rare these days.

What he said.

I recently got two head units from them. Both purchases went very well. The prices were not higher than anyone else for what I got. I also used a $20 coupon both times. Extremely fast shipping for me and the free harness and dash kit was more than worth it for me.

Only once. I needed an after-market stereo installation kit for a jeep wrangler and they had one when no one else did.

Good point on the shipping, I forgot that on my post. My last order was placed about 3pm and it still shipped same day.
