I have an old AXIA T-Bird 1.0 GHz that has been getting bumped around from system to system as a "test" CPU. Yesterday I noticed that an entire corner of the core had been crushed/broken off... And the bloody thing still runs fine! Wierd huh? Think that this thing might run into any problems down the road?

I have been running a duron 900 with 2 crushed corners
with no problems for about 6 months. I guess your chances
are as good as mine. :)

i remember reading a post by someone who said their core was so cracked it was basically rounded off...

crazy.

i have a dead tbird 1.2 lying around that I cracked the core on. Cept thats not what killed it. When I was building my pc and was dumb and ignorant about overclocking [not to mention a little younger; 16.5 now :)], i took it out to unlock the multiplier, which i later found out my board didnt support anyway AND that the processor was already unlocked, i think I zapped it with some static or something, cuz it wouldnt work when I put it back in :(

had to order another one for like $104. Sucks.
