Ok, so I need a new bag for my 15" Powerbook and I have narrowed it down between these two. In one corner we have the Crumpler Wack-O-Phone, and in the other we have the Timbuk2 Commute. Anyone have any experience with these bags? Both are lookin' pretty slick, but which one will get me the most chixors?

I think the Wack-O-Phone looks better, but looking at this picture I have to wonder how well the padding is. Performance over style, you know?

Thanks for the imput.

Well, I ordered the Timbuk2 bag and got free shipping from Apple. I still think the Wack-O-Phone (hate that name) looks a little better, but I read more good reviews about the Timbuk2 and it also looks like it has more space. Oh well, I need to find some cool patches to stick on there now!

This is for college. I'm not looking for a fine leather bag, just something that is durable and I can carry my laptop in. Like a backpack, ...but a messenger bag.

Have fun lugging a laptop over one shoulder. I tried it for two months and couldnt take it anymore. But maybe your experience will be different.

I have the crumpler blunderbus. It's a little small because I usually take it to work with my lunch and water and a book for the train. It is very good quality and a nice bag - the only thing is that the strap is really thick and doesn't bend very well, and it is also very long so there is alot hanging out of the snap closure thing for it. The only thing I would change is the strap. It actual bag is very thick though and probably waterproof.

How big does it feel? This is one of the big things for me. I want something that my Powerbook, mouse, graphics tablet, and charger will fit in, but I don't want to be carrying around a suitcase.

I have been using the Targus Trademark 2 for my laptop (Thinkpad R50p) at work. I like it because it is a top loader, the front pouch is real nice for organizing stuff and getting to it quickly and the strap has the shoulder cushion sewed in. It has a real nice feel to it and is stretchable to each shock.

Only gripe I have with it is the lack of extra space for anything else than documents. But of course I carry alot of crap when I go on trips for work. :)

So far, I have been really pleased.:thumbsup:
