I am not crazy about the ultra low costs of the mega ships as it becomes too crowded and riff-raff sets in.

It's that surreal moment when the riff-raff starts to complain about the presence of the riff-raff. :\

Ok I've done my fair share of short cruises but never one of those. My cruises were bing drinking weekends to Poland, Finland, Latvia, Estonia and so on and a few cruises around Turkey and Greece. Yeah the drinking was fun but it was mostly just a fun way to get to the destination. However they cost me like $10. The most I ever paid was $100 for a suite for two of us. That's $100 for a weekend for two of us. Yeah I know it's not all inclusive but just so you understand where my next question is coming from.

If you're going to spend $300 or more pp pd why not just book a flight to the Bahamas and live on the beach? Especially considering you guys are making these cruises out to be "the walmart of cruises"?

I going to get out of bed and go to the bank and while I am there it will be robbed and I will stop the bank robbery....
Then while leaving the bank I will see a 6 car accident and I will go out and pull all the occupants out of their cars and then direct traffic until the ambulances and police arrive.
Then I will walk down the street and look up in time to see a woman on the top of a 30 story motel who is going to jump. I will of course proceed to up to the roof and talk her out of jumping and that's just the first 3 hours of my uneventful weekend!!

I went on bohamian cruise a couple of years ago. I was trying to light a cigar on deck and the wind kept blowing my match out. Me and my buddy kept hoping someone would pass by with a lighter...

But nobody had one :(

Awwww, poor fellow.

I always bring with a couple of Jet lighters for cigars on the boat. (That said, I pretty much use them always for lighting cigars, but, on the boat, they are pretty much the only option)...

Well, if you have a private balcony, usually they won't get too much wind as they have some pretty good wind blocking set up. I don't usually pay the $$ for it, but the last one we went on (Carnival Pride from Baltimore to Orlando, Nassau, and Freeport), Carnival sold us the upgrade from shitty interior room to balcony for about $100 due to some last minute cancellation...

at premium prices.

Yes, either you pay premium price per drink on a cheap cruise.
Or you pay premium price for a cruise with open bars..

My problem with cruises isn't the prices of the drinks. It's the horribad beer selections. How fvcking hard is it to pick up a few kegs of GOOD beer at port, or even just some bottles. These ships have like 3000-6000 people on them.

Long day Saturday - early morning going to be in a photo for the front cover of Sports Illustrated next week. Then right after last long run before the Boston Marathon. And later that night, being honored on the field at one of the local sports teams.

So you basically just told us you're ARod. I knew it.

I had some Kalik last time I was in Nassau. We were on a cruise, so only spent a day in town, but, it was enjoyable. Conch salad is awesome.

That said, I'm generally more of a stout guy.. lagers really aren't my thing... though, in hot weather, and with lots of sun, I will admit a decent lager goes down smoother than anything else! I guess I'd agree that there's a time and a place for everything, even lager :)

I'm a huge fan of stouts, and I can guarantee you that the words "I wish I had a nice heavy stout" have never been uttered by anyone in the Caribbean. Frankly, drinking beer in a place where rum is cheaper than water strikes me as a mistake from the get-go, but a nice lager can certainly refresh in 80 degree, 90% humidity paradise.
