Going on a little get away to the Bahamas...4 days, unlimited drinks, should be a good time.

The weather is getting perfect for it.

Anyone else doing anything fun this weekend?

Nothing that exciting. Dinner on Friday night, working on Saturday then a movie after, then laying on my stomach for about six hours of tattoo work on Sunday.

A customer came in last week with a praying hands tattoo on his forearm. I swear the fancy script looked like "Only Bob can judge me."

Date tomorrow after work, then meet some friends at a bar. Softball and maybe sailing on Sunday, haven't figured out Saturday yet. Remote chance I'll be in NYC for another date, I should find that out tonight.

Six hours? Are you getting a welcome matt tatooed on your lower back? ;)

ive never been anywhere that had "limited drinks" before.

atlantis was freaking sweet when i went there. don't know how it would be though if a cruise ship full of people took over the place. love that place though, some really great food there too.

Which cruise line? The first and last time I went was on Carnival; turns out they're the walmart of cruises.

Well there are a lot of levels of Carnival. If you booked one of their cheaper ship, yes. The $499 7 day special I got on them would best described as "Never again!" OTOH I hear nice things about their new super ships.

also - which cruise line, Carnival, Royal?

It's just a Carnival cruise, one of their smaller ships.

I am not crazy about the ultra low costs of the mega ships as it becomes too crowded and riff-raff sets in.

Oceania and the like are much nicer, but instead of being $100-200 per day; it's like a few thousand per day.

Going snowboarding for a couple days. Sadly it will be the last trip of the year, but the spring conditions should be great.

Oceania isn't that bad. Did one with them for ~300 a day, but that included transcontinental airfare as well.

All the Carnival/Royal Carribean/etc have what I'd say are WalMart Cruises...

Things also change drastically when school is out (at least down here in S. Florida where locals just show up to score last minute tickets cheap with like 20 grand kids with them).

It's like the Orlando theme parks, totally a different experience in early-mid October (<30min waits for anything) than July 4th weekend (3+ hour waits on some attractions).

Are tickets cheaper in the summer? I might take the wife on a cruise one of these days for something to do, though I'd still prefer to just fly into an island, and take a ferry to a lesser populated, less touristy island.

Carnival Legend, not sure if that's their "cheaper" one, but it was definitely walmarty experience. Not bad per se, just tacky. Still totally worth the 500 bucks or whatever it was over new years.

Long day Saturday - early morning going to be in a photo for the front cover of Sports Illustrated next week. Then right after last long run before the Boston Marathon. And later that night, being honored on the field at one of the local sports teams.
