I've been looking around but I thought I'd ask here in the meantime. Any input on personal experience pro's con's would be helpful.

My wife wants to go over Spring Break (she works at college, Im in my last year so we both have it off). Im trying to figure out if it is financially feasible.

thanks

If you've got AAA, check with them first. They've got some good deals with Holland America lines.

Here in SoCal, the cruise I really want to do is to Cabo San Lucas. But the furthest I get is Catalina Island for some reason... :(

cruises can be very cheap or very expenisve, it depends on where you want to go and where you are currently.

we are going on one in 2 weeks and unfortunately chose the week of winter break to go. Therefore, prices are $250/person for the same room as for the week before :frown:. SO date is everything. Expect to pay a ton to go during spring break.

I went on a Carnival cruise and loved it! Best thing about them is you dial 8000 for room service, all fees are paid of ahead of time, so you can order food all the time to your room without having to "pay," because you paid ahead of time. You don't have to tip anywhere either because they reccomend a $10 per day amount to cover tips, if you have any issues with them you don't have to pay that $10 a day and you get that part of your money back.

Carnival is the worst, but if you are looking for cheap, and young people, its the best.

So we returned from our Royal Caribben cruise a few weeks ago and it was really.... good!
Partly good, partly bad...
We went of the Mariner of the Seas... their newest ship. Huge ship, some nice bars, lounges and cool layout. There were SO many unsupervised kids EVERYWHERE it was awful. Even in the adults only parts.

Some may say the food is bad, but i thought it was very decent for such a huge ship.
Sure, you could afford it depending on which line you go through and what ship you want. Carnival was described to me as the "KMart" of cruises. Cheap, but a party all the time. RC was next in line in terms of class and actitives. It goes up from there with Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, Norweigan, Raddisson, Cunard, Crystal, etc. Although i am sure you could find some great deals on teh internet for any line. Most of the "stuff" on board is inclusive... most food, entertainment. But unless you go on an ultra-luxe ship/line, alcohol and shore excursions are extra.

check out Cruise Critic or Cruise Reviews .
Both have TONS of info and places to get quotes for prices!
Good Luck and enjoy!
