Well actually, this is none of our business. It is their courts and their laws which have spoken. Just like it is none of their business when we enforce our laws.

Ali al-Nimr was 17 and still in high school in 2012 when he was arrested for taking part in protests calling for social and political reforms in Saudi Arabia's restive Qatif province.

A court later convicted him of charges including belonging to a terror cell, attacking police with Molotov cocktails, incitement and stoking sectarianism, according to state media.

Mohammed al-Nimr insists his son has done nothing to deserve such a "harsh and unjust verdict," which he says "does not fit the boy, does not fit international law, (does not fit) the laws of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Obviously the court in Saudi Arabia feels differently.

Yep, that clinches it, off with his head then tie him to the cross. Or is it tie him to the cross then off with his head? I hope they have the instructions written down -- wouldn't want to get things backwards and spoil the fun now would we.

Apparently the only evidence is a confession they extracted from him which I'm sure was 100% above board.

[leftie-lib] "You're a big meanie and should be punished for your hatemongering!!"

The truth really sucks, doesn't it. :(

Might want to look up what sharia law actually contains, but that might burst the happy-bubble.

im happy to see the python skit in the first post

anyway, whats the point of beheading him first, isn't the whole point of a crucifixion to kill someone slowly and extremely painfully

It's the Middle East - it can go get fucked, as long as we aren't involved in the fucking.

If the people don't like it, let them revolt and change things.

The "Sauds" were "friends" long before bush. Like, a really long time.

To some extent I agree. Where we part ways is in the idea that I believe what IronWing was referring to was a friendship that is/was personal, whereas you were referring to a friendship between nations.

Eh, Saudi Arabia, our long-time ally which we have continually propped-up hasn't really done anything for us but generate wassabism, the backbone of modern terrorist jihadis, given birth to Al Qadi, ISIS, and all the other psychopaths of the world.

....and this is exactly why. Because they are nutters. We honestly should see this is our problem, because everyone except for Saudi Arabia is responsible for cleaning up their fucking mess--one which we gleefully fostered.

They're beheading him first -- where's the fun in that?

Should it not be crucifixion first followed by beheading?

Line on the left, one cross each!

It's that kind of forward thinking liberalism that got Saudi Arabia leadership of the UN Human Rights Council.

I dunno man, 'oil' is one of those words that technically is i think usually regarded as one syllable but can sorta be two depending on exactly how you choose to pronounce it. I think

Because Friends of Bush.
The Sauds, our friends til the end.
We like all the crude.

works out better. ;)

on topic .... Sauds gonna do what Sauds gonna do. Never go full Saud.

It's still the Dark Ages. Saudi Arabia, along with the rest of the Middle East, are still there.

You would have had to read more than the first couple sentences of the article. I know that's a pretty tough expectation though.
if Ali is executed it would violate the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, to which Saudi Arabia is a party.

We are members of the U.N., right? What's the point of having a U.N. if no one follows through with what they say they'll do?
