I have two questions.

1) Which is the better memory manufacturer: Corsair or Crucial?

2) What is the difference between PC2700 and PC166 and why the big number difference even though they're similiar in price.

pc2700 is pc166 , they are both the same.:)

But what one is better?

After looking at this DDR SDRAM Showdown i must say Corsair looks mighty fine.

Corsair managed to get as high as 190mhz! :Q

While Crucial only managed 170mhz.

Yeah. The Corsair is definitely better since it's already rated to run at the higher speeds.

But those to be fair the modules tested were pc2100 for Crucial & corsair were pc2400.

We should know better what pc2700 is better when they are released & tested.

Technically, they are from the same manufactor, Micron.
The difference is that Corsair is selecting the best of the best of the best from Micron, Crucial is Microns own Brand under which they sell
the very good stuff VERY cheap. PC 2700 is DDR rating, PC166 is SD-RAM rating---
