Crucial still has the best prices on memory

Is this as good as Mushkin ram?

Thats a better price than I can get on Generic brand locally, even without tax. This rocks.

I wish SODIMM prices would fall to near regular DIMM prices. SODIMMs cost twice as much as DDR or SDR.

That is just amazing that memory prices keep dropping.

I watched them over the last year and saw them drop alot and a few months ago, they hit a plateau
at about $90 for 256MB PC133 Cas2 (from Crucial of course), so I bought 5 of them. Then a couple weeks later, memory started dropping again. Never ends. 🙂

I can't imagine that it can go much further and I can't see how Micron is making money at those prices, so I think I'll buy a pair of 256MB DDR and get a new DDR board. 🙂

Crucial is ending they're free shipping offer come july 16th. Is that just a gimmick to have people buy ram in bulksome now to avoid shipping charges later? Does crucial offer free shipping often and does anyone know if they'll be offering it again by the end of the summer? How much cheaper are ram prices going to drop - shud i just buy it now? your thoughts plz.

They pulled the free shipping promo before, and soon reinstated it. If Micron wants to keep their factories humming, they'll have to be price-competitive to move inventory. So one can only speculate as to whether they'll again offer free shipping, but it should be considered likely.

As for when to buy RAM, the best answer is always when you need it. Sure, there are super deals now and then that might influence you, but component prices generally head downward (as long as the product is still in full production). If you look at their price charts, 32 MB and 64 MB PC133 SDRAM costs in the $15 - $20 range. Chances are that will be the lower limit for 128 MB and 256 MB modules in the future as well. By that time, DDR and RDRAM should be more popular.
The threat of a RAM undersupply leading to prices going back up is quite unlikely unless a miracle happens to the currently-stagnating PC industry.

Actually, I belive Micron is LOSING money on this RAM. They just want to get rid of excess inventory, that's why the prices drop so much. I watch CNBC and that's what they say and I believe it.

Yep...I finally picked up a couple sticks of PC2100 DDR in anticipation of the Abit KG7. I figure the prices are low enough and I don't see them getting much lower. Got two sticks of 256mb registered/ecc and it was $115 shipped after CA taxes. With the Abit board I have the option of going up to a gig later down the road if I need to.

Y is this buried by poasts of FreeTs that never come ? Nice post!
BUMP to get up off last page. You may want to change your topic thread to " 15 % off your Crucial order no coupon link inside ! " or something like that I just typed that one up fast.

Please stop posting these memory deals!!! Now I'm up to 512M in my machine...I'm weak and can't resist these prices. 🙂

Crucial has always been the best place to get memory. Hopefully they will reinstate the free shipping quickly after they do away with it though.

Don't forget to go through Ebates for an additional 6% off. Use the instructions by LukFilm in another thread, it does work.

Best memory deal (better than Crucial) is today (Sunday) only. Staples B&M - PNY 128mb 133 for $19.94 after $10 rebate in their flyer (good for a week), which is a better price (after rebate) than Crucial. But what makes it particularly attractive is that there is also a $10-off-$40 coupon out there (search the threads here for mention, or go to fatwallet; expires today). So if you add another $20 worth of Staples product to your memory purchase you will get it at half price ($10).
