They received my bad DIMM on the 9th and it will still be a 'couple days'.

Good thing it's not a production server...though they did offer to rebill me for a new DIMM and credit me if they find my RMA'd DIMM faulty.

They probably only have 2 people working there because you sure don't hear of much dead Crucial memory :D

Lol! True, but that doesn't excuse bad RMA turnarounds... memory is important enough that there should be a very fast turnaround time.

But at least in the server arena, it's a good idea to keep a spare set of DIMMs ready to replace bad ones, so that there is effectively no down time for RMAs.

I just RMA'd a stick of Crucial 256MB ECC REG. PC2100, I sent it off today. I paid to have a new stick sent to me and have my card credited upon recieving the bad stick. I should have my new stick on Friday, mine is for a mission critical server, but I have 3 sticks left in the system to get by on. They were great over the phone, didn't give me any problems what so ever, just sent me out a new one with hardly even any questions. Easiest RMA I've ever had to do.

I just had to send back my PC133 256mb Cas2 chip. I choose the cross-ship + charge&remove method. Will get my new chip tommorow.

Yes, send one back, they test it fully to make sure it is a problem with the ram, before they send you a new one. They still do that when you do it the other way, but you don't have to wait as much for it.
