Crucial Ram Rebate

So while Crucial was running a rebate on some of their memory I bought 2x (2x1gb) packs each pack was like $100 with like a $50 rebate. So I filled out both rebates and mailed them in. I just received a postcard back from them saying they can only complete one rebate per household. However, it does not say anything about that on the rebate form. Obviously only one rebate per item, but I bought 2x items so wouldnt I be able to file for 2x rebates? There is no contact phone number only a postal mailing address. Should I write to them?

Are you sure it does not say anything about one rebate per household or per customer?
You have to look at the fine print also.
If you are sure and you have copies of everything, there are things you can do.

This is a pretty common restriction, and something that people buying multiple rebated RAM kits should be aware of. I've seen this restriction on most all the rebate forms for the various RAM manufacturers (as well for other products).

You need to wait for the current rebate period to end, and then buy another kit when the new rebate period begins (the price will often have dropped slightly by then too).

Or use a different address. Not sure what you can do at this point since you already sent them everything. Let this be a lesson to you and eat the cost I guess. Good luck in your efforts to see if you can somehow get your money back.

Sigh, ok well I am going to try and contact them anyway. What a dumb rule, I hate MIRs.

everybody else already said it but it was definately one per household. I bought a pair and then gave my brother $100 to get another pair. got one back monday and the other wednesday.

Maybe call them and tell them one is a gift or something???

Rather than use the lame "the other was a gift" line.
Be creative, something like...
I had the IE window open to the order page at Newegg, went to use the toilet and my dog jumped up on the keyboard accidentally changing the quantity to 2.

Why waste the time? Just chalk it up to greed, inattention to detail and count it as an educational expense.

Have it sent to another family member's house. Worked for years for "one per household" offers.

I'm pretty glad we don't do the whole MIR thing over here, I reckon I'd always forget and lose out, aside from the hassle.

I had a similiar experience with rebates on some Corsair memory earlier this year. I bought 8GB (4 x 2GB kits) with a healthy MIR and was disappointed when the rebate was only honoured for one kit. IMO, the language on the rebate form was extremely vague and did not clearly state "one rebate per household". I noticed that the language on subsequent rebate forms was clarified...
