Crucial PC3200 RAM

JBT

Does this ram overclock well. Any good bad expieriences? I have heard the the CL3 at default SPD doesn't really matter and that it can do much better at default vdimm or maybe a tad highier. I don't mind vdimm of 2.7 so no worries there. This would be goign into an a7n8x Deluxe Im pretty sure that combo works please let me know if it doesn't. I was thinking of some corsair XMS 3200 for $112 but for this crucial it is only like 90 savings of 22 bucks in my book is GREAT!!!

I have a 512MB PC3200 stick of Curcial. When I ran it at 166Mhz, I was able to get to run stable with cl2. Right now I have it running at 200Mhz at the defualt clock speeds and it does fine. Crap sorry that doens't relaly qualify as overclocked since that's what the ram is rated for, but from current and past experiences with Crucial I'm pretty sure it will perform what you want it to do.

Last I heard/read Crucial was still using Samsung cas3 chips. Basically there isn't much o/c'ing headroom.

LOL, tweaktown makes Crucial out to be superior to corsair. they were only able to acheive 223 FSB with XMS PC3500?!?! i can do 230 on my XMS pc3200

thats one reason why I was a bit skeptical I didn't see how crucial would totaly blow all those other sticks away. I know crucail was GREAT back in the day when PC2100 and PC2700 were top of the line. But with this newer PC3200 as a default of CL3 I am wondering if it would be worth 20 bucks for some 3200 corsair XMS.
