Awesome!! Thank You, just collecting the parts to build a new HTPC and this was on my list of items if I found a good enough deal.

I have not need, and no frivlous money, but prices like this are telling me to "buy me"

For example I have a perfectly good 40 gb intel v in my HTPC that has never had a problem, and I only have to clean out once a year for less than 30 mins. But when you can get 256gb for a $100 from a good oem....

No Roland it is not worth it, you will spend at least 30 mins opening up your computer, swapping the drives out, reinstalling the os, reinstalling the software. This is the real time consumption. KISS

It is only double the speed in reads (the biggest problem for a HTPC) but 10x faster in writes (random and sequential)

You been a good ssd intel 40gb (oldest SSD I still own, I had even older ones but those computers are in friends/family hand) but you are just now old, like Arrandale old.

*Pats the htpc like it is an old golden retriever in its golden years*

Wow NICE price. I'd love to pick up a 512GB SSD to replace my main desktops 256 GB Samsung 830. These prices are making me just want to grab an additional 256 and using it as an additional disk. Who really cares C:\ vs D:\ right?
