I just check Crucial's site, and they increased their 256MB PC2100 to $88.00. Since when did they increase the price?! About 2 weeks ago it was $71.00!!! Pricewatch has generic for $54.00.

It increases every couple of weeks over at Crucial.

I believe it won't stop either.

I hope it doesn't go up into the $200's for a 256 stick though :(

I'll be so sad :(

<< Supply and demand is what it's all about >>

Umm, what 7 increases over the last couple of months, big ones just recently after all the memory makers got together for some BBQ? It's not all just supply and demand.

Probably because they know that all those people who bought those P4 1.6's will need some.

I agree that memory makers got together over a BBQ and some beer to fix prices:disgust:

Its like OPEC ( org. of petroleum exporting countries), if they feel that profit is a little slow, cut back on production and let prices go up. Its almost like legal price fixing.

The major Korean DRAM makers increased their contract prices again this week, by another 15-20 %. This is the 6th such raise since December. Note: Contracts are normally for just 2 weeks.

Micron and the others just follow suit ...
