Wonder if the AnandTech, FatWallet and TechBargains effect has taken it's toll on Crucial.com? The web site is still down.

Crucial's site is back up!

Anyone know how long the webpromo 15% discount will apply? How about the free shipping? I am SOOOOO tempted to get a stick of 256mb!!!! But if it goes even cheaper, I can afford to get two :)

The question is, can you afford to wait and lose out on this? Crucial.com is right the market is very volatile and I guess in some it is in fact a commodity but come on $85 for 256MB PC133 CAS2 RAM with free shipping, you CANNOT beat that with a stick.

Wait and you play Russian Roulette, who knows you might have the last laugh and get it for $70 for 256MB PC133 buy two for $140 !!!

But the flip side is you may bang your head against your desk and repeat to yourself, "You snooze, you lose".

October 2000 I paid $145 for 128MB PC133 CAS2 from Crucial.com now I can buy double the RAM for $60 less, I jumped on the chance.

Plus who knows how long until the Webpromo 15% off is good?

Who knows if eBates.com will cut back the 5% down to 2% or 3%?

Who knows if they will begin charging shipping again?

Ross is right, at this price you can't afford not to get the memory. If it does go up so be it, but at this price do you want to risk it? :)

I ordered my 256MB CAS2 from Crucial last Friday for $118.00 and the price dropped to $90..I went to their "Ask the expert Desk" spoke with Ann and she took care of everything...My order of two pieces went from $237 to $180 and some change. I will be purchasing all of my RAM here in the future, if I ever have a need for it again!!
Thanks for the heads up on the price adjustment.

Considering you are already viewing the very thread that tells exactly how to get the stick for $90.94 minus the ebate, there probably is a quicker way. Nice try promoting another site through the work existing on this one, though.

How does crucial memory (CAS2) matchup with the best (corsair and mushkin?). I have a Asus A7V AMD board (AMD boards tend to be picky with memory).
thanks

Guyz, i just got the following from crucial :-(

"Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate your comments and share them with
our employees.

At Crucial Technology, we are dedicated to providing you, our valued
customer, the best memory upgrade products at the most competitive price
possible. Please keep in mind that memory is a commodity. Pricing for
memory components, as well as for modules, is determined by the worldwide
equation of supply and demand. As the price of memory fluctuates, we must
also adjust our prices--both upward and downward.

We continue to monitor pricing on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis so that
we may deliver the most competitive prices to our customers. Due to the
volatility of the market, we are unable to adjust pricing after an order has
shipped.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and look forward
to the opportunity to do business with you in the future. If you have any
further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. At Crucial, we are
committed to taking care of our customers by providing the highest-quality
products and most reliable service and support.

I had also called them up and threaten to return the memory, but guess it didn't work. They were like you'll have to get a RMA # and pay for shipping. bought 512MB for $112 a piece instead of $90. oh, well.
