Crucial DDR PC2100 - A question

I currently have a AMD Duron 900 which is running at 200MHz FSB, but I'm thinking about upgrading to an AMD Athlon 1.4GHz with a 266MHz FSB. All of this is on a FIC AD11 motherboard.

Now the question.

I have a stick of Crucial 256MB DDR PC2100 memory in the motherboard (Part Number: CT3264Z265).

The motherboard has a jumper on it to set the FSB to either 100/133 (which would be 200/266). But will the memory I have work at 266MHz FSB? Crucial's site doesn't say....and to be truthful I'm not really sure what the "PC2100" means in terms of specs...I've always assummed it simply meant double 100Mhz (hence the PC2-100). So does this mean that it won't run at 266MHz FSB? And if this is true.....what kind of DDR memory would run at 266MHz? The only other memory that is PC1600 and when clicking on it it told me no modules were available for the system I selected (which oddly enough, I didn't select a system...just clicked on PC1600).

Anyway, if anybody can answer the simple part - Will Crucia's 256MB DDR PC2100 memory run at 266MHz FSB? I'll be happy....

Crucial DDR PC2100 - A question

Yea I have a question, WHY IS IT SO FRIGGIN' EXPENSIVE! :| I remember when I bought my two sticks of Crucial 256 DDR for 26$ a piece. *sigh* 🙁

Memory prices have been discussed many times already. It's supply and demand. They had WAY too much memory in stock, and not enough people were buying it (all makers, not just crucial) so they slashed prices so that people would buy it and they could at least make back some of their costs. All of the really cheap memory was well below manufacturer cost for months, meaning they weren't making ANY profit on it. I don't know if Crucial technically dropped below cost, but they certainly weren't doing well. Now that people are buying systems again and buying memory, they're able to charge more and people continue to buy because they need it, whereas before people saw the wicked low prices and just bought it because it was cheap, but wouldn't have bought if it had been more expensive. Also they cut down production severely in order to deplete their stocks so they don't have so much sitting around not being sold. So now you're also buying from a limited supply.
