It says right on the homepage "PC1600 DDR RAM FOR PC133 PRICES" so I really doubt it's DARTEKISH:cool:

You need a mother board that supports DDR to use it. Maybe normal motherboards support it, but they wont take advantage of it. DDR is supported by the AMD 760 chipset and the Via's next iteration of the KT133 (KT133a?). Some motherboards with the 760 have been released, and the reviews show that there is a significant performance increase. Of course, to really make of the DDR memory and the motherboard, you would need the new AMD processors that support 266MHz FSB.

i fink the ddr rams run on 2.5 volts. pc133/PC100/PC66 sdram runs on 3.3 volts so they are not compatible. There i answered my own question. :)

DDR Modules are not pin compatible with SDR (PC133, PC100, etc.). To use it, not only the chipset but the DIMM slots on the motherboard must support DDR RAM. The KT133a does not support DDR, only the 133/266 MHz FSB. You will also want to look out for motherboards with DIMM slots for both SDR and DDR; you cannot use them simultaneously. This is meant mostly for systems integrators who may want to choose between budget/high-performance with the same motherboard. Hope this clears things up a bit.

"Of course, to really make of the DDR memory and the motherboard, you would need the new AMD processors that support 266MHz FSB."

Not entirely true; people have successfully increased the FSB on their processor to 133 MHz and had it run fine. The problem with increasing the FSB before was the other components on the mobo wouldn't like it; but with the new KT133A mobo's, that's not a problem.

Uh...yes you will need a new motherboard as SDRAM is 168pins and DDR is 188pins. They are not physically compatible.

I have seen DDR boards on pricewatch for a while they're slowly dropping in price, I think the lowest I've seen is like 140 bucks. Just look up AMD 760 and it should bring up something

I have been researching DDR motherboards and Ram for quite awhile... and Iwill's ddr motherboard is proabably your best bet. DDR ram is 184 pin and not compatible with SDRAM and benchmarks have only shown between a 5-20% increase in system performance because of this and the Iwill test board was using PC2100 ddr ram. Crucial said they wont be releasing PC2100 ram for another month or two so your only other luck is to go with Buffalo DDR PC2100 which is expensive and made by Samsung or Corsair PC2100 which is more expensive than Buffalo.

everyone should buy crucial DDR chips since part of your purchase won't goto RAMBUS, instead it will go against RAMBUS.

Jesus, I can't believe there isn't more of a reaction to this! This is one BLAZING hot deal! Normal prices for PC1600 won't come this low for a loooong time, let alone the sky-high prices they are right now. Check out the prices for the 256 module! Its only $10 more than two 128 meg chips! Not to mention the cheapest this stuff goes on pricewatch.com is 364 for a 256 meg chip! Hmm . . . 170 . . . or . . . 364. Lemme think about that for a second.

I'm tempted to go out and buy this right now even though I don't have a DDR athlon board or nor will I for a good long time =P

Damn that compulsiveness to buy blazing hot deals whether or not I need them . . . screw burning a hole in my pocket, I've just blazed the whole jacket.
