This is an ultra low-profile single 8GB stick, DDR3-1600, 9-9-9-24 timings, running at 1.35v.

It looks brand new, with few reviews, but could this be the successor to the vaunted Samsung 4GB stick? Anyone care to pick one up and see if it overclocks like the Samsung? It's got to have some headroom if it's rated at 1600 cas 9 at only 1.35v.

FYI, Crucial also has a higher-end set rated at DDR3-1600, cas 8, also at 1.35v. That's pretty incredible, even at $49: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148655

Yes...

In other news, damn you Termie, I don't need this right now, but you KNOW I want to test the hell out of these things. Maybe after the New Year? In the meantime, happy holidays :D

I was hoping you might take me up on the challenge...

And happy holidays to you as well!

January is going to be hell at work and we're likely moving in February, but I'll definitely grab a couple of these to put through their paces as soon as things calm down. In the meantime, I wish Samsung would come out with their own 8GB sticks...

I've had my eye on these as well, but my basic gaming and web browsing needs don't even max out 8GB.

"I don't need more hardware. I don't need more hardware. I don't need more hardware..."

EDIT: Slightly better deal!

Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) $71.99
10% off any desktop memory BTEJHHF22 exp.12/25 (does not stack, so can't use with earlier deal)
=$64.80 per kit, or $32.40 per stick

I presume these are using Micron chips. I'd love to get 8GB low voltage sticks, but I'm a little iffy since the DDR2 Ballistix RMA galore.

That was a long time ago. Yes, I too had to RMA DDR2 Ballistix. I do have some early (circa 2010?) 1.65v DDR3 Ballistix Tracer (with red LEDs, yo!), and they still work.
