That is a great deal.. What will be the standard speed then for ddr4?? Like for DDR3 it was 1600 for the longest time but now its like 1866 or 2133. even though you can get higher speeds I just want the standard.

I don't think there is a good answer to your question yet. The lowest speed DDR4 is 2133, but I have a feeling that DDR4 2133 will one day end up like DDR3 1066 is now: slow and nobody wants it. This DDR4 2400 is clearly a step up.
Of course we need to keep things in perspective. X99 has quad channel memory so I'm not sure that RAM faster than 2133 makes much of a difference. The platform has so much extra bandwidth to start with compared to platforms with just dual channel.

Every time I see memory prices I can't help but remember what I paid for the Samsung Magic DDR3 ram in 2013. I paid 79.98 for the first 16GB set, and only $57.77 for the other. Given the lack of IPC improvements and high RAM prices I think it's going to be a long time before I upgrade my current RIG.

Damn where was this deal 2 weeks ago haha. Oh well I got 2666 and paid about 30% more for it.

Also should be able to stack this with newegg's 5% sitewide that goes live in a few hours, or any 10% targeted coupon for RAM. $180-190 is almost DDR3 prices for a 16GB kit.

newegg 5% off (starts 2pm EST 11/24): Use code: NAFBF14A

Yeah that was great RAM, I just sold the 2 kits I bought with my original 4770K build. They became impossible to get shortly afterwards because Samsung moved to 22nm RAM production, mainly for laptops and mobile devices.
