Crucial Ballistix Problem

Hi i have 2 512MB of PC4000 Crucial Ballistix ram and im having problems where there are times where programs just dont open. everything else works but no programs open then like 5 min later all those programs i clicked on show up. i have a feeling this is a memory problem anyone know why this happens and how i can fix this
 
Not very likely, if memory failed you'd probably get a Blue (or black) Screen of Death, hard freeze, or reboot. Memory failures don't usually cause serveral minutes of lag.

More likely:
* adware / spyware (see the sticky thread in Software forum)
* virus / worm / trojan
* failing hard disk

Also, you can type CTRL - ALT - DEL to bring up Task Manager to see what program(s) are using all of your CPU time.
 
u were rite, it was a failing hard disk, i put another IDE hard drive in and it works fine. So i RMA'ed my WD raptor...i think it broke when i droppd it 🙂 lol

Just to let you know here at Anandtech we don't condone fraud. Dropping your hard drive does not fall under any of the warranty causes to RMA a bad HDD.

I understand you're a new member here, but please just know that the moderators here do not take fraud lightly. You can be banned for it.
