What happened? The price of the 256MB is almost twice of what I paid a couple of months ago. I wish they had 512MB available back then.

This is really depressing! I was hoping to pick up a 512 meg stick or two, but not at this price! :|

The prices are being raised for the holidays.. I would wait till the middle of January and the price should be back where it was..

Yeah it's either the holidays or they raised prices to reflect increased demand for hi-tech components since some reports indicate the economy will be rebounding soon. Remember, memory is nothing more than a commodity now. I bought 128 MB PC2100 in Oct. and paid only $16.34, a full $10 less than now.

my local best buy started carrying crucial memory...and although the 256MB DDR sticks are $59.99, they are supposed to be $35 - $10MIR = $25 starting sunday. Which isn't a bad deal. Just hope they start carrying the 512's so a similar sale will take place

I got a stick of 512MB PC2100 DDR (running fine at CAS2, btw) from Mushkin for $57 delivered just about 6 weeks ago. What's up with this $150+ price?

it is only a matter of time before ram has to go back up. I would just say enjoy what is left of good prices on ram because it seems they are going back to normal. Remember when 256 meg ddr ram was just $30, it wont be like that soon.
