So, I took my 3 month old 19" Samsung Syncmaster 997DF out for its first LAN tonight. The darn thing didn't even make the first trip. After plugging it in, it wasn't powering up. We swapped cables, tried different sources, etc. I had to drive back home and take my 6 year old 17" HP CRT out of my closet (which accompanied me on all my previous LANs) and use that guy (which still worked fine).
Next time, I think I'll get a nice Dell 2005fpw.
Anyway, now the trouble remains of who to RMA it to. I bought it off techonweb.com, who I can request an RMA from, or directly request an RMA from Samsung, since the monitor has a 3 year grace period. Either way, I'm probably out of shipping costs, which will be a pain for a nearly 50 pound item.
