CRTs die...whats this mean?

In the middle of a game (recently Call of Duty), after 4+ hours of high resolution, high graphic playing, my dual monitor setup connected to my x800xl suddenly dies on me. Both CRTs turn off, the monitor poweron light blinks (like it would if you turned off your PC but not your crt) but i can still here the action going on. My computer is still running, but my video is kaput. Video card overheat or what?

ATI seems to have a problem losing monitor sync in some of their drivers.

I heard the same thing. Call ATi about it. Also, do you have a thermal sensor (speedfan)? Check ur x800xls temp. I doubt it overheated, because x800xls tend to be cool. If it did overheat, it probably was a misaligned hsf, or the thermal compound dried up.
