For 200-400 should I go for a LCD or a CRT? I will digital editing, gaming, modeling etc, do they make CRT's that are thinner than 10 in?
 
At that price range and for what you're looking to use it for, you should probably go CRT.

They don't make CRT's of normal usable size under 10" thick yet.
