CRT to LCD switch

Wanted opinions about this age old debate. On a heat of the moment buying spree I picked up a LG 1752T LCD which I have setup with my 17 inch CRT Samsung 793MB monitor (which I use to think was great)...and I am loving the dual display. Great for coding work I do.

What I am writing to ask it about my switch from my Samsung 997DF (19inch CRT) to an LCD on my gaming machine (7800 GT / AMD X2 3800+). I was wondering if anyone would give me their thoguhts of what I am considering:

1. LG 1970HR (manuf. specs: 1400:1 constrast ratio, 2 ms, 300 cd/m2) 1280X1024 resolution Max. If it worked out well, I would consider a second one for dual display...down the road.

2. Getting TWO LG 1752T LCD's and using them both on my gaming machine, one screen for in game, and 2nd screen for hero planner, guides, etc. ** Would be a similar price take to ONE LG 1970HR LCD.

3. Samsung 244T or a Dell 2407WFP (widescreen LCD's). This is the other part to the debate. Do I spend a little more to get a big monitor which is widescreen? What concerns me is the distortion of the image do to the widescreen.
And I don't want to use image utilities to play a game.

I mostly play COH/COV, HL2, BF2, BF Vietnam, NFSMW, NFS Carbon, etc. Not the really high end games, but I do run most in 1280X1024 at max settings on the CRT without issue... just noticing the color and clarity difference on the 17 inch LCD I have.

Opinions anyone?
