CRT or LCD Monitor?

Ok, upgrading to a new PC. The old PC I have a LCD Panel on, 17" forget the name, but I like it.

What would you all do if starting new? I like the resolution of CRT but I don't like the footprint.

LCD all the way. Can't get a wide screen CRT that I know of either. Widescreen LCD's are great for watching dvd's which it seems all are in freakin widescreen format lately. I really hate those stupid black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.

actually, you can get a widescreen crt. the nice thing about crt's is that you can get a really big, high quality one for really cheap. how much money are you spending on this.
