Just got a new 19" Dell P992 Trinitron (aperture grill) to replace my burned-out 7 year old monitor.
It is used on a PC that is on ~ 18 hours a day. To achieve maximum lifetime for the monitor
should I turn it off each time someone leaves the PC, or just leave it on in either screensaver or
auto shutdown mode? Electricity useage and heat output are of no concern for this location,
only longevity for the monitor.
Thanks in advance.:)

If I do not use mine for several hours, I shut my monitor off(computer is left on).

Use standby mode - it'll save the tube without turning the monitor on/off. And don't use screensavers.

I have mine set to activate after 15 minutes of inactivity.
