CRT- hazard ?

Eye strain? Yes, somewhat. A CRT monitor constantly flickers on and off at 60-100 times a second(depending on refresh rate), so it does cause some eye strain.

Cancer? Well, CRT monitors DO emit radiation, but it's so negligible that it hardly would cause cancer unless you enjoy rubbing your face against the screen 24/7.

slowly.... step away... from the computer. We... will not harm you... we... are saving you...

Cancer, No. Eyestrain depends on how sensitive your eyes are, for me I don't get eyestrain when working for 8+ hours at 85Hz but that is really subjective some people need 100+ Hz

What about other body parts? 😱

Using a monitor at 60Hz might cause eyestrain. I can't stand it. I prefer 85Hz or higher. I run my monitor at 120Hz.

I use to use a CRT for ten years, now my eyes are at about 6.00/600 degrees. Aside from that, I hear that there's real radiation coming out of the rear of the monitor. When checking a few hundred serial numbers on CRTs over the summer, got a bit paranoid about that🙂. Enjoy, feed the beast.
