CRT 720p HD?

Im looking for a replacement for my very old 18 inch TV, which is getting kind of increasingly hard to play my Xbox360 on, I cant even read the scores in APF2k8. So, I dont really have the money to get an LCD, so I am looking at maybe a 27inch CRT TV or around there, I see they are only about 200-300$.

I am wondering if there are any that can show resolutions of 720p, which would look remarkably better than my current "setup". So if anyone could explain this to me or direct me to a TV on newegg or tigerdirect or any website that I could purchase from, it would be excellent. I don't care about normal TV signals, they can be in 480p or whatever SD it normally is.

You're probably going to be spending $500 to get 720p capability out of anything but a computer monitor. I don't know if there's hardly any HDTV CRTs under 30" anymore. The CRTs that are that cheap are probably only going to be SD, snd so won't do 720p. Don't even consider buying one from a website either as shipping cost on a CRT will be pretty high. You might look at Wal-Mart, they would probably offer the best options as far as CRT HDTVs go in your price range.

You might consider getting a 22" LCD monitor. I know there's quite a few people over at HardOCP that do that (for the reason you're wanting, Xbox 360). You might look around there in their display section.

That looks like its an SDTV with a digital tuner in it (so it can pick up ATSC/QAM channels but will be scaling them down). If it was 720p or 1080i capable I'm sure they'd list it in the specs (I checked there on Newegg and on the Toshiba site).

I found this: http://www.walmart.com/catalog....do?product_id=5652234

Its not an HDTV either though, but its widescreen and bigger and would end up right about the same price as that Toshiba if you had a Wal-Mart that carried it nearby. I should've taken a quick look at the TVs while I was at Wal-Mart a few minutes ago. Looks like most companies have completely ditched CRT HDTVs and instead have gone to LCDs and SDTV CRTs with digital tuners built in.

You might see what stores in your area have to offer. If they happen to still have a couple of the CRT HDTVs you might get a good deal on one.
