OK, I guess . . . I personally thought "Gladiator" was a little hammy and not really anything new or emotionally satisfying. He was perfectly decent in it, though.

Well, Gladiator made me cry like a baby. I am very rarely moved like that, so I guess he deserves it.

Otherwise, I pretty much ignore the whole Hollywood scene...

Only one I saw was GLADIATOR. Liked his performance.

Don't care if he is a jerk or not.

Don't care much rooting for millionares. At least athletes compete.

Crowe seems like a cool dude. today on a tabloid i saw some guys were trying to kidnap crowe or something, and they showed his pic from the movie gladiator. The quote is "crowe says: kidnappers come and get me" Like he's gonna site out side his house in his gladiator costume chaing "Come and face me kidnappers! face me you fiends!"

Crowe rocks, he had another show that he was great in. He wasn't headlined though, the headline was De'Niro I think...but Crowe was much better.

I loved Gladiator Great movie.

Oh I agree that he did well in Gladiator. I think the guy who played the evil Caesar should win best supporting, if he's a nominee. He acted so well and was so believable to me that the mere sight of him is despicable!!:Q

That's the only movie of his I've seen.

Elita, that is River Phoenix's little brother, Joaqin (or whatever he is calling himself these days). I fully expect to see him win an Oscar in the next few years... he is supremely talented!

I miss River.

Del Turo (?) won for Traffic. Phoenix was really creepy in "To Die For" as well. He's good at playing a dark style character.

Isla---OMG!!!!!! River's Brother!!!! I had no idea.
I remember when River Phoenix was THE sex symbol that girls died for. He was pretty cute in that old movie "Sneakers". It was sad to hear of his death.

Edit: TRP--haven't seen that movie yet but I'm sure he is awesome in it as well.
