Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon DVD

I have that DVD version. The trailer doesn't work, and the menu intro doesn't work. Everything else works fine. (It doesn't work on my laptop though.)

The main issue though is that since they cram so much stuff onto the single layer disc, the video quality suffers a bit, especially in dark scenes.
 
I also have one, menu's trailer work, english dub and manderin, bunch of subtitles, and i dunno if its dual layer.. havn't bothered to watch it through yet🙂
 
I just got this dvd from getvcds.com. It says that it is region 3, but it works fine in my region 1 dvd player. Even though there is some controversy as to whether it is a bootleg, the picture quality and sound I thought were great. Quick shipping also. I ordered it last Thursday, and it arrived today from Malaysia.....

I just watched the movie. Loved it. Of course I am studying Shaolin kung fu, so it means a little bit more to me....🙂

Yeah, I couldn't believe it. I ordered mine on a Thursday (Friday in Malaysia), and mine arrived in Toronto on the following Monday afternoon. 4 days from the other side of the world. Snail mail to the same city here take a week. 😛
 
i just got my copy today and i have to say, its damn good quality, as good as when i saw it at the theaters. love the audio changing feature even though i understand the cantonese/mandarin versions. and coco lee's video.....holy crap batman shes fine!! ok bye🙂
 
The one I have is definitely a dvd. Vcds are pretty crappy in comparison.....
the strange part about it is the case says region 3, but it plays fine on my region 1 player. There actually is an official region 3 dvd already released, and I wonder if they just copied it somehow without the region coding...oh well, definitely worth the money anyway.....
 
I've heard that they're legal and region-free (though it sez R3). It's been out over there for quite some time. I'm gonna wait for the US version so that I get all the goodies. I can wait.

I wish they'd get the Star Wars and Indy flix out on DVD.🙁
 
The getvcds version is definitely bootleg. When I select &quot;mandarin&quot; it actually plays in cantonese... so I have to select &quot;cantonese&quot; to hear it in mandarin. Gee.
