crossover cabling

You could do it, I think, but you would want to have an OS like Linux, NT, or 2000 that can handle multiple network cards easily. Win 98 was a pain in the A** when I tried to do more than one before.
 
For the price of 4 NICs, you could get a small hub and not have to worry about the headaches...🙂 Theoretically it should work, but I wouldn't want to deal with the hassle.
