Crossover cable or hub???

I'm planning to link up my two computers.
Should i use crossover cable or a hub??
can u guys give me some link to good websites that give you step by step information on connecting two computers. i'm a newbie. 🙂

if you're just going to have 2 computers, get a crossover. cheaper, simpler, and maybe like 1/10 of a ms less latency 🙂

but if you're EVER going to have more than 2 computers that you need to network (which think about it, you never know when the situation might come up), then you'll have to have a hub.

so maybe get a crossover for now, but think about investing in a low cost small hub, just in case
