Crossover Cable Lan Problem

I'm trying to connect two computers using a crossover cable and I'm pretty sure that I installed the second network card properly and also turned on internet file sharing and stuff, but when I connect the two computers the internet works on the host computer but the other one doesn't work. Could it be an irq problem with the network cards on the host computer or something installed improperly? Suggestions would be helpful if anyone's had this problem.😱😀

You may have turned on file and printer sharing, but did you also setup internet connection sharing? They are two different things.

Make sure the pc that is connected to the modem has at least win98SE/2k installed. Then you must run the internet connection sharing (ICS) wizard to setup the capabilities of sharing the internet to multiple pc's.

thanks for the advice guys..i got it to work after fiddling around with the settings after i read your messages...bad thing is now my sister is gonna hog my precious bandwidth:|
