Crosshair V power save feature?

I don't know how or what's even doing it, but soon after upgrading to my Crosshair V and the FX-8150, my monitor shuts off when there's only ~8% of the screen lit up, it just shuts it off.

What I'm saying is that when most of my screen is supposed to be dark, either the mobo or my CPU is totally shutting the screen off. Does anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it? It is extremely annoying and beyond useless. I was trying to play a demo for a game, but the screen was supposed to be totally black except for some tutorial text. However, because not enough of the screen was lit up, the screen was shut off and I couldn't do anything.

I vaguely remember hearing about this being a power save option for the Crosshair or the 8150, but with more and more monitors switching to LED back lights, this is almost a non issue.

Checked the actual monitor settings? It can shut down when there is nothing onscreen to save power.

...I did some snooping and apparently it was because of the ASCR feature. I guess I switched it on somehow by accident :|

Thanks for the help lol
