ok i have a GA-970A-DS3 motherboard
i have a 7870 installed

can i cross fire it with one more 7870 or some other card ??

Although you're obviously best-off if you crossfire it with another 7870.

Or you could just sell it for ~$200 and buy a 7970 for ~$400. You're out the same amount of money.

The 7970 might have a little less raw power (and correspondingly lower frame rates), but there's no micro-stuttering, no loss to scaling inefficiency, no iffy crossfire support from certain games, it'll use 100w less power than a pair of 7870s, and a 3GB 7970 will have more usable VRAM than a pair of 2GB 7870s (since everything is mirrored in memory for both cards.)

Please dont crossfire two 7870's on that motherboard. The second PCI-E slot is x4. Either sell the 7870 and get a more powerfull gpu or get a better motherboard and go crossfire.
