Crossfire vs SLi

I was thinking about the Crossfire but everywhere I look for motherboards that support Crossfire they are crap ass xpress 200 and now they have a xpress 3200 which still sucks because it has no SATA 2 or anything.

I only see one board that is using the ATI xpress 3200 which is made by Asus... am I missing anything?

Also could you guys recommend any good boards that support CrossFire for ATI?
 
The Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe is an excellent Crossfire motherboard.

SATA2 isn't really that important, since the performance benefits of SATA2 vs. SATA are usually minimal if at all.

However, if you really wish to go with a dual video card solution, i'd likely go with SLI, since Crossfire's implentation could use improvement IMO...
 
If you want to talk yourself out of an ATi chipset or crossfire be my guest, but dont make non existant excuses to do so.

With a minute or two worth of reasearch at newegg it should be easy to find out that the Asus A8R-MVP and ECS KA1-MVP both have 4 internal SATA II connections, and the Asus A8R32-MVP has 5 internal SATA II and 1 external SATA II connections.

Did it ever occur to you that since the RD580 chipset was officially launched less than a week ago that might be the reason there is not more boards on the market with this chipset to choose from.
 
I appreciate your response and the information you have given but your criticism was quite crude. I have not followed the computer hardware to know the information that you already knew that is why I am here asking on the forums. Yes, I got it wrong that the A8R32-MVP has SATA2 when I said it did not.

Though I have been out of the loop does not mean that you can come along and state that I did not do my research. I did some searching on the internet mainly pricegrabber.com, ati.com and asus.com but I neglected to check newegg.com. I did not think of that website and I saw on the Asus official site that it was only listed as SATA and not SATA II. I mean it listed the speed but not the actual name and as stated earlier I been out of the hardware loop I did not know the speeds of SATA I and SATA II.

I mean not everyone can be a computer guru like you... ^_^
 
If you would have just asked if any crossfire boards supported SATA II I am almost certain you would have gotten a quicker responce. Also, when you come to a fourm and start a post using foul language to bescribe hardware be prepared to get a some flak. Even with the attitude you presented I think my responce was reasonably polite.

You say "I have not followed the computer hardware to know the information that you already knew that is why I am here asking on the forums" the problem is that you did not ask about SATA II support, did you?... you had already made up your mind that all crossfire boards deserved your foul language.

If you would like I will not respond to your thread anymore, but as a word of advice if you get offended so easily then you should word your post differently, it could also get you quicker and more helpfull information.

Funny how you say I get offended so easily when my so called foul language was directed at a piece of hardware and your criticisms were directed at me like I insulted you :-
 
The criticism might've lacked sugar coating.. But it is somewhat justified. It is senseless to attach adjectives to even hardware when you are not in a position to make a judgement (i.e. until you are quite sure what something can/can't do). It does make it seem like you have already made a (biased) decision. Having said that, the A8R32 seem to have some issues most reviewers did not encounter/did not notice, so I *would* cautious right now.
