crossfire useful on x16/x4?

I posted a longer version on ocforums but couldn't get an answer. If i ran crossfire on a p5b deluxe with 2 4830s would the x4 bottleneck the crossfire performance?

If this Article is to believed then sometimes it will perform worse than a single card. Thats for 2 * 4870 512mg.

Just get a single 4870 it'll perform almost the same and cost the same or less. (In AU prices that is)

no it does not; not with 4830 and not 4850 either

i just tested 4870, and X2 with CFx3

.. and it is a small *practical* difference
